Intended Purpose of Scholarship
These scholarships comprising an award of $500 each are for the benefit of two successful candidates from two local high schools annually.
They have been set up to encourage the development of all forms of Fine Arts in the senior years of high school including painting, sculpture, music, drama, dance and film.

The Scholarship is Intended to Provide:

financial help for relevant ongoing material or equipment purchases;

cost of travel and attendance at exhibitions, performances or workshops related to their art; and/or
-
pay for weekend, holiday or on-line courses that the student may want to take to enhance their studies.

Eligible Candidates
Candidates from the following schools and meeting the following requirements are invited to apply for the Scholarship:

Mt. View High School:

Year 11 students who intend to major in Visual or Performing Arts for the Higher School Certificate.

Cessnock High School:

Year 11 students who intend to major in Visual or Performing Arts for the Higher School Certificate.

Eligible students are encouraged to make an application on or before the due date of Friday 8th September for the 2024 Scholarship. This is the last day of Week 8 Term 3 and late entries will not be accepted.
Only one scholarship to the value of $500 is to be awarded each year to both schools but a $100 Highly Commended Award may also be awarded at the discretion of the selection committee. The decision of the ADFAS Pokolbin selection committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result.
Payment of the awards is made in October each year to allow preparation for the following school year.
